A historic relic all the way back from the long forgotten year of 2015…!

Every one of these hoverboard replicas is hand made in the exact same spirit and style of the original screen used props, with every minutia of effort spent to make them look as screen accurate as humanly possible; the only difference being that these boards are 3D printed. The experience of handling a prop is as important to me as looking at it, and since hoverboards are obviously supposed to be plastic (and not wood or styrofoam), I decided this melding of the real world and the movie world would be the way to go.

To get these boards as genuine as possible, the graphics are built upon the exact lenticular honeycomb material as used on the original screen used props. The very same company that supplied the film continues to make this material to this day. On top of that are all the crazy retro ‘80s colours and velcro strips you see on the close up hero models. The photos don’t do this justice; when you get one in hand all these beautiful details really pop!

I’ll reiterate that these boards are hand made without the help of any mass production machinery — this means they won’t be the super clean sanitised hoverboards we see from the officially licensed toy reproductions. These are made to resemble the props as we see them in the movie, and after months of tireless research and many sleepless nights, I think I’ve got it just right.

Anyway, thanks for checking it out guys! I’m super proud of this one, and I hope all the fellow Back to the Future collectors feel it’s a worthy addition to all the other great fan made boards out there.
