The MPX8 is equipped with standard MIDI input/output terminals, so it can be connected to external MIDI devices using the supplied 1/8" - MIDI conversion cable, allowing you to tap the pads on the MPX8 to play audio from an external MIDI source, or play audio samples from an external MIDI controller or other device. You can also play audio samples from an external MIDI controller or other device.

The included MPX8 Sample Kit Editor (available for download) allows you to easily set parameters such as tuning, reverb, trigger type, level, pan, and MIDI note numbers on your computer before loading voice samples into the MPX8 itself.

The MPX8 comes with 21 audio samples, including vintage drum machine sounds, sound effects, and bass sounds, built into the main unit, as well as a loop library that can be downloaded free of charge from the AKAI professional website. The MPX8 is an easy and convenient sample player that can be used in a variety of genres and in a variety of situations, using these audio samples and your own original samples in its compact body.
