This equipment can be tricky to fit. The adaptor may not fit your taps. The suction power of the pump is limited and might not be enough to drain your aquarium. Please inform yourself before buying. We do not want people to buy and then be upset about their purchases. The plastic parts are branded items sold in hundreds of thousands per year, The hose is heavy 10m Garden Hose. Please check on one of the hundreds of videos available online before you purchase. If an adaptor does not fit then please keep it for your spares box it will be useful in the future. If in doubt please do not purchase. 

The picture you can see is for the pump with all adaptors and hose - this is the most expensive variation - please select the variation you need. The first variation for £8.65 is for the pump alone with no adaptors.

This is a simple Venturi pipe. It is commonly used to drain or fill aquarium and other household items.

The item has a 3/4 inch female thread at the top and a 3/4 inch male thread at the side. The base of the pump is a simple on or off twist attachment. Twist one way to fill - twist the other way and pull downwards to drain. If required the base can be simply removed.

When draining an aquarium this needs to be attached to a tap with flowing water. The water falls into the sink or a drain. This causes suction at the side pipe. A hose can be connected to the side pipe and use to drain liquids from a fish tank or similar. This is especially useful when no height difference is available to otherwise siphon the water. This can be easily used to create the suction need for gravel cleaners.

The price of this item includes 12% ebay fees, about 4% paypal fees, minimum £3 postage,  packaging, the original purchase price and a tiny profit. The variation with the hose weighs about 2kg and is expensive to post which is included in the price.

This is a handy little tool to have. It is very useful for a wide number of water filling draining and aerating applications. On the downside it is a bit fiddly getting it attached to a tap. It normally fits a garden style and size tap but otherwise uses standard garden type hoses and attachments.

The worst thing about this little pump - as lots of customers have told me - is connecting this to taps. Basically this can be done with simple everyday garden hose technology. With a little help from a garden centre everybody can do it.

To make things easier we have listed this in 4 variations, postage is free with all 4. Version 1 to 3 are with Royal Mail. Version 4 is with a cheaper courier because of the weight.

1. Simple Pipe with no adaptors as shown in the picture.

2. With a white plastic tap adaptor. This is designed to work with mixer taps. This is the standard python fitting. The aerator needs to be unscrewed from your mixer tap and this screwed in. The pump will then screw onto this adaptor from underneath.  - this will normally fit but cannot be guaranteed as there are many different types out there. . It will fit almost all modern normal mixer taps. Please look at your mixer tap before you buy this If you want to fit this you need to have space below the tap for the adaptor and pump.

3. With a set of 3 adaptors. a) the tap adaptor above b) a hose coupling to attach to your half inch garden hose c) a female adaptor for the side arm which will also click into the hose coupling.

4. With the set of 3 adaptors and a 10m roll of half-inch reinforced garden hose. This should be enough for your aquarium needs. The roll of hose weighs just under 2 kg and this is expensive to post - this is the main reason for the main jump in price.

Options one to 3 will be sent second class post. Option 4 will be sent with one of the cheaper couriers.

Please note that this is simple garden hose technology. It will screw directly onto a standard outside garden  tap in the UK. Inside a house it is trickier because all tap connections are different. If you have ever connected a hose inside your house then you can connect this. If you have never done this then please inform yourself before buying.
