-Hello, for your consideration today is a Sterling Silver George K Webster Intricate Hem Ruler/Caliper, used by dressmakers and seamstresses and ready for a collector of such fine antique sewing goods/tools and/or a seamstress themselves!
Research indicated this is a pre-1930 item. Though it is not professionally tested, It has a Sterling silver marking on it and others I researched/looked into were indicated as tested sterling silver so I cannot guarantee anything but I feel pretty confident it is legitimate sterling silver.
-it has been recently polished with silver polish.
-it is an very old product, there is definitely some wear though it does seem to be in pretty good condition for it's age, do please study the pictures closely to make sure this Hem ruler meets your standards :) This a lovely, unique piece that seems to be quite rare and uncommon out there, it was my grandmothers for many years and was used specifically for hems, how clever!
-I did my best to research the specifications of this item such as the date it was made, who made it etc. but I am not an expert on antiques so cannot guarantee anything and will do my best to give you what research I could find!
-the hem gauge ruler slide can still move up and down/still works great!
