Maintenance:
As material experts, Will Leather Goods only uses leather made to stand the test of time. Fat liquors and oils are imbued in the tanning process of the leather to ensure it remains soft and supple over the life of the bag. We are proud to offer low maintenance, rugged leather goods that will only look better with age. The leather we use is kept as “natural” as possible and is meant to patina over time – making the product more personal with each and every day of wear.
Cleaning:
Use a damp cotton cloth with warm water to blot stains and “lift” them from the surface of the leather. Then blot dry with a dry cotton cloth. If the stain does not remove using just water, use a mild solution of liquid detergent (such as Palmolive) and warm water and blot the stain again, then blot dry with a dry cloth.
Scratches:
Through the nature of the tanning process, fat liquors and oils are imbued in our leather. Not only does this keep the leather soft and supple over the life of the product, it also allows for scratches to be “bent” out of the leather. If scratched, simply bend and work the area of the bag with your hands – this will lighten the leather and the scratch will disappear over time. Moreover, the leather color will even out with daily wear and use.
Conditioning:
We offer complimentary leather conditioning – please visit one of our retail locations for your conditioning needs. If unable to visit one of our retail locations, please e-mail us and we can arrange for conditioning at our Eugene, Oregon headquarters.
Fabric Care:
At Will Leather Goods, we use a wide variety of fabrics – from sturdy 18 oz. cotton canvas, to Oaxacan wool rugs, to 50-year-old vintage raw silk Kantha quilts. For the majority of our fabrics, please spot clean fabric with a soft brush. If a spot remains, please use a damp, soft cotton cloth to “lift” the spot from the fabric. For additional care information, please e-mail us and we will be happy to discuss fabric care for a specific product in greater detail.
