JABO Megan Kasmar Memorial Marble
Collector Series
Gold Chain Smiley
MINT -
Run Date: 6/5/11

This JABO run called "Megan Kasmar Memorial" has some very thoughtful history. It is a JABO marble run made in the memory of it's namesake, Megan Kasmar. Megan passed away at the young age of 16. Besides this kind gesture from family and friends, the great JABO team were able to create a very beautiful run of glass marbles. There are very bright and vibrant colors including some flames in the run. The marbles from this run have the vivid coloring of royal blue, sunflower yellow, cranberry red and forest green. The full coverage around the full 360 degree sphere is what sets these marbles apart from most other runs.  As you can easily see with a quick eBay search, there are not many of these that come up for sale. If you don't have any of these, then it would be a great addition to your collection.

This particular marble has colorful swirls that remind me of the dense tropical forest of the Amazon rainforest of Brazil, Columbia or Peru. You could say that this marble represents great biodiversity. ;-) Emerald green, bright yellow, almond brown and just a tinge of orange colors make this a really nice marble. If you don't have one of these in your collection, this would be a nice one to have to represent this family. Overall, this is a very collectable marble from a special run.

The unique feature of this marble is definitely the short gold chain that is curved and looks like a smile. I took a few pictures with various lighting to make sure you can see it. It's one of those unusual things that can be fun to collect. I don't think that many gold chains have this shape and smiley face...interesting stuff.

I try my best to take high resolution pictures with flash to show exactly what you are getting. I try to rotate the marble to give multiple views. This marble was manufactured using the 3/4" machine and the size of this particular marble is 0.684" in diameter measured with electronic calipers. Note 1: this marble is slightly smaller than most JABOs off the 3/4" machines. Note 2: the downgrade from a perfectly mint marble is due to a sizable crease shown in the last picture. Fun fact, these type of crease formations are often lovingly referred to as a "butt crack" (forgive my vernacular). But just for fun, you could call this curved-gold-chain creased-marble a "smiling butt crack". LOL
