Beautifully painted brooch measures approximately 2 1/4 inches long and approximately one and three-quarter inches across. The hand painted details are in the hair and around the necklace and some other raised area of hand painting. There is a slight flake in the hair that we have tried to picture but it's very hard to see. It looks like a tiny chip but it's really hard to tell. You can feel it more than see it.
