"I am still irate, the more so that you tell me that the thing is selling like Wildfire." Henry James, written to his father Feb 15, 1880.

This unauthorized Henry James book published circa 1880 by James Loring, Boston, contains a short story that first appeared in The Parisian. The small book has sewn pages, a glued binding and softcover wraps, as well as a small sticker on the title page from H. Bangs & Williams Co Booksellers , Providence, R.I. The book also includes a list of "Loring's Successful Novels" at the front and on the back cover as a list of Florence Marryat's novels inside the back cover.

In good condition for its age, the softcover book shows typical toning to the pages, soiling on the covers, and a stain on the back cover as shown in the listing photographs.
