Gucci Pour Homme: First Masculine Fragrance by Gucci
The first and best!! Gucci’s golden years!

Today I got out of my wardrobe a real masterpiece of the past: the first Gucci men's fragrance, Gucci Pour Homme. The brand launched it in 1976, and the legendary perfumer Guy Robert was commissioned to create it (you probably know his perfumes: Dioressence, Equipage, Caleche, Madame Rochas, Monsieur Rochas, Amouage Gold).
It was published under the slogan “There can never be too much elegance in your life.” And it's a seriously big masculine chypre, standing firmly on its feet,

Seven years before Amouage Gold and Amouage Gold Man, which the Sheikh of Oman used to present to the kings, princes and presidents of the world, Guy Robert created a fragrance that can be called the next step towards the perfect chypre.
A fragrance that can be worn not only on special occasions but on a daily basis, like a signature perfume.

Gucci Pour Homme has an excellent and accentuated bright citrus start of lemon and bergamot, to which an aromatic and slightly soapy accord (lavender, anise, basil)
The woody, warm heart of oakmoss, patchouli, cedarwood and sandalwood with a slightly spicy hint of carnation seems warmed by the sun and familiar. Well, of course, the chypre theme was prevalent in a variety of guises. The flower theme sounds implicit, vague, warm and hidden under its woody-spicy theme.

Later, the leather theme enters, which is iconic for Gucci (world-famous for its accessories and bags), but without interrupting the wood and oakmoss. It is worth noting that in the 1930-40s, Gucci bags began to be made from canvas, jute and other plant fabrics, due to the military shortage of leather, and later the famous Gucci Bamboo Bag appeared with a bamboo handle. So the woody-leather counterpoint of the Gucci Pour Homme fragrance can probably have a historical background.

Despite its considerably vintage age, the fragrance sounds absolutely great, especially if you like chypres.

the first fragrances under this name can only be found at web auctions and flea markets, and are quite expensive.

A review from Fragrantica about this masterpiece!

I am very familiar with the original Gucci Pour Homme of 1976 & boy what a luxurious creation it is! I have never been very big on most of the chypres or powerhouse fragrances of the 70s-80s but Gucci Pour Homme is one I absolutely love! Gucci Pour Homme definitely smells like something of its time yet it never comes off as too dated or too "old Manish" as some would say... All I get from it is elegance & luxury! Citruses, herbs, spices, florals & a powerful woody leathery base! Oh, how I just love the leather note in this one! There is just something about the quality of the ingredients in these older fragrances that all of the modern fragrances of today lack completely! Gucci Pour Homme is just so rich, so high quality, so luxurious! A true vintage masterpiece!

I was lucky enough to have it in the 80s. There was nothing like it!! It felt so alluring and just plain gorgeous! I own 2 bottles of the vintage,I hate to be one to complain about reformulations because I completely understand that much of what once was great has been changed - often for the worst - due to IFRA regulations.

You can't mess with perfection. Too many flankers and none of them even remotely smell like the original.

i released this gem! I hope collectors & a new generation of wearers enjoys it

Perfume is a time machine. It can transport you to a very special place in your mind like yesterday. Or 70 years

an invaluable treasure - a timeless collectible that evokes unforgettable and beautiful memories. This is how I perceive it. And you? Well, I am grateful to those who appreciate the rarity and preciousness of this unique masterpiece of fragrant art.

I'm giving my collection a new breath of life... And is Your turn to carry on where I left Off!!

PS: most of vintage perfumes are made from natural ingredients, unlike nowadays perfumes that contain synthetic ingredients that damage the skin and cause sinus infections!!

Some vintage items may have experienced evaporation or loss of top notes, so bear that in mind when buying older items.

Vintage. Vintage, as a rule, is called aromas older than 15 or 20 years. Safety. The vast majority of alcohol-based perfumes and if stored in a cool dark place can last many years.

Do I need to give a vintage perfume settle upon arrival? Yes, postal delivery is always stressful for perfume. Therefore, making sure the aroma is authentic, let it rest in peace and after a while it will reveal itself to you in all its glory.

I strive for 100% customer service! I describe every detail I see that is important as best as i can
