The talon part is the actual size of an eagles' talon (between 1.25" to 2"), so when people ask you about it, and they will, you can teach them something cool.

Since we didn't make this piece, we don't know HOW all of these gemstones and their color work so well together, but they do. They just DO! The placement of every color and detail is a work by a master craftsman and one you'll be very proud to won.  Some of the gemstones represented are: Opal, (Green, black and an unusual two-tone white to blue/green opal in the eye, which changes flash color as you move back and forth). There is turquoise, Jet onyx, malachite, mother of pearl, ox carnelian and sugilte. The piece 'curves' with the shape of the talon and every detail is pristine. Even the bail is coved with gemstones. The flip side is sterling, stamped, and does show some patina which could easily be buffed out. Not super heavy at 10.3 grams but it looks really heavy.
