This listing is for a vintage original Mauro Colizzi Circus Poster. The subject is Circus Clown act with clowns riding various cycles, cars and a horse. Coloring is amazing for its age. Not faded. It was covered with a plexiglass piece that fits the size of the poster.

I did some research on Mauro. I believe he was born in the 20th Century in Italy and was famous for his circus subject paintings. He also was known for movie posters. His posters have gone at auction anywhere from $50 to 200,000!!!

The poster measures 27 1/4 x 39 1/4". Please see all photos as they are part of the description. I have listed the full picture of the poster and then sections of it so you can see it up close.  If you would like more pictures, please email me.

It is signed M. Colizzi at the top right corner. Shows creases around the corners from normal wear. It was stored away. There are no rips or tears in it. Someone used a marker to cover up something in the bottom left of the poster. Not sure why. The following is typed at the bottom right of the poster:

Essente da bollo art. 15 D.L. 18-3-68 n. 337. The phrase Essente da bollo art means "exempt from stamp duty" in Italian. I think the numbers might be the date March 18, 1968, print no 337? I'm not an expert but it may be what it means.

The poster is amazing and would make a great addition to a collection or to frame. It will be carefully packaged in an aluminum tube. Thanks for looking.
