Offered here is one of several items (and tiles) inherited from my great-grandparents home that I am listing.  This is a nice, original Minton's Aesop's Fables tile dating to around 1872.  It is a design by John Moyr Smith showing the fable of  "The Frogs Who Wished for a King."  This is in the rare light blue and white color, and is embossed on the reverse with the Mintons mark.  This came out of the top/center of the fireplace in my great-grandparents home (before it was remodeled) where it has been since 1873. It still has the mortar on the back from the removal.  I've been told it can easily be taken off (I don't know how).

It measures: 6" (15.25cm) x 6" (15.25cm) and is in nice condition with no cracks or stains, and just a few tiny nibbles at the edges (particularly along the bottom edge).  The color is bright and fresh, and the transfer is sharp.  Please see the photos above for details.

All in all, an excellent example of this hard-to-find Aesops Minton tile.  This would make a nice addition to any collection.  It will ship in the U.S. via insured mail, and globally using eBay Global Shipping system.  Please feel free to send along any questions you might have, and thanks for looking.
