Corgi Toys No.424 Ford Zephyr Estate Car

Made in the UK, (1961-65) Early Flat Hubs

Corgi made these from 1961 to 1965 - it started off with "flat" hubs and towards the end of the run had shaped hubs, this is the first version, the less common and harder to find one with flat hubs. I have a shaped hub version and it’s very noticeable.

• Two tone paint- Play wear to the paint job
• Red interior
• Right hand drive, although American car; UK release!
• Roof rack nicely cast
• Excellent suspension
• Clean baseplate

This hefty little number is a beauty of industrial design! There is obviously playwear, as seen in the paint job, but structurally this toy is so well made that six decades later it’s in great shape. Also really gorgeous; whether for restoration, or a spare or for parts, this is a steal!
