Description
The SG series was born in 1966, in the midst of the electric guitar boom, as Yamaha's first electric guitar/bass. The SG series is Yamaha's signature model that has undergone several model changes and has continued to the present day.
The SB-5A is a standard model of the bass version derived from the SG-7 "Blue Jeans Custom," which symbolized Yamaha in the 1960s.
[Body
The body shape is based on the Blue Jeans Custom, and the large horn on the first string side is a charming point. Scratches, dents, and dullness of metal parts, as well as uneven coloring, which is common for this type of Yamaha color. The joint plate and finger rest are missing.
Neck.
The neck is approximately 42.2mm wide at the nut, and features a rounded, narrow neck shape. The tuners are wound unevenly, but this does not affect the functionality of the tuners. The nut has been replaced and the frets have been adjusted for playability. The bridge cover is missing.
Electrical System
Controls are 1Vol / 1Tone / Balancer. The balancer control allows you to adjust the pickup balance for a seamless mix. The tone has the fatness typical of Yamaha, but is balanced and moderately tight and coherent.
