Building on the incredible legacy established in the 1960s, the James Bond franchise went from strength to strength throughout the 1970s, entering a second golden age under the stewardship of
a new leading man.
Although the franchise began the decade with a nod to the past, it strode into the future, crossing genres and continuing to deliver the inimitable Bond that fans had come to know and love. Coupled with an incredibly creative and colourful cast of characters, this cinematic experimentation made the 1970s a truly memorable decade of 007.
Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Live And Let Die, we celebrate the iconic James Bond films of the 1970s with a commemorative coin designed by award-winning design agency Bison Bison. The reverse of the coin features ‘Wet Nellie’ underwater, backed by the titles of each of the decade’s Bond films, and the iconic 007 logo, stylised as it appeared in the 1970s.
