This component guitar combines a Fender Custom Shop Master Built neck with a Team Built body. It is rare for someone to make such a bold parts change on a MassBuilt, but it could only be done by a professional guitarist who is still very active at the forefront of his field, and whose sound is the most important thing to the former owner. Incidentally, this is not a guitar built with parts left over from reassembly, but an individual who selected good parts from each of the original guitars.

This is a Fender Custom Shop Team Built Stratocaster Relic in a gorgeous gold sparkle finish with a light ash body. The neck is a Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt 1968 specification large head rosewood fingerboard. This one was built by Fender Custom Shop Senior Master Builder Mark Kendrick. The fretboard is 12" in radius, and the frets are thick and tall jumbo type for smooth fingering, and the fret edges are very carefully chamfered.

The pickups are modified SSH and equipped with Fender Custom Shop's original single coil and The Mule, a humbucker from Bare Knuckle Pickups, which has been highly acclaimed in recent years. The Mule is the most popular vintage PAF type pickup in the Bare Knuckle Pickup lineup, and has a wide range that picks up all the raw sound of the guitar, and a sweet midrange characteristic of PAF type pickups. It is well-balanced in both single and humbucking mode, and can be used for various genres of music.

The pegs and bridge were originally equipped with Gotoh's Cruson pegs and 510 bridge, but have been returned to the original Fender Custom Shop genuine F-key pegs and vintage type bridge. The bridge mounting screws have been replaced.

There are some light scratches besides the relics, but the frets and neck are in good condition, there is plenty of truss rod room, and the electrical system is in good condition.
