This was a souvenir from a holiday in Port Macquarie, New South Wales, in the first half of last century.
It would make an excellent conversation piece as mood lighting on an occasional table, or as a bedside lamp.
The base is glazed, and this shows significant crazing up close and a crack on the rear as pictured, but is completely intact.
The fitting takes a bayonet cap globe and is still functional.
The shade colour has faded over time but is still intact, with original braid finishing top and bottom edges. The shade is original, so it is a little frail and needs to be handled carefully. It has a stain on the left hand side toward the rear, as pictured.
The scene depicted on the base highlights a couple of flowering xanthorrhea (grass tree) plants with a fisherman in the background, and the words 'Port Macquarie' in front.
Total height about 45cm

I highly recommend insuring this against damage in transit even though I do pack carefully for shipping.
