-I love these shifters but they had one deficiency that makes them (30 years later) difficult to find in complete condition: to change the cables one had to remove the top covers, multiplying the possibility of misplacing some of the small bits.

-one shifter is missing the necessary toothed washer from the top plate, also missing the (unnecessary) plastic side trim piece/ seal. One shifter is complete. Both shifters survived all the cable changes with those little plastic cable plugs in place. they also survived with the original unique tough-looking 5mm mounting bolts with the knurled 6mm bolt heads. The rubber lever-covers have some typical wear, but no road rash.

-ratcheting friction mech.s both sound good, I did a quick clean of spider webs and applied a bit of T9

-Beware: unless a seller has gone to the trouble of opening them up and documenting their completeness, you are likely getting a shifter with some missing bits, especially some of the key washers.
