This is a wonderful framed 1961 poem by Jenny Joseph and written out and framed by Elizabeth Lucas entitled "When I am an old woman I shall wear purple...." representative of the Red Hat Society - a woman's movement placing a strong emphasis on the positive aspects of life - friendship, sisterhood and play.  The poem captures the spirit of growing old in a wonderfully outrageous style.
