For sale is this extremely scarce double cassette of GEORGE HARRISON - ALL THINGS MUST PASS on Apple Records 1970 in stunning all-original condition including the almost impossible to find cardboard outer case.
My researches suggest that this wonderful example is the 1970 Italian 1st Issue: It features the original card case enclosing two Norelco cases. The inlays have the original full-bleed design with white border. The tape shells are light grey with the early narrow three window pattern and "dp" stamps of the Data Packaging Corporation. The paper labels are the green type consistent with 1970 EMI tapes manufactured on the continent by Philips. The catalogue numbers are 3 C 546-04 741 and 3 C 546-04 742. The two cassettes contain the whole of the contemporaneous triple LP vinyl release.
**At the time of listing this is the only example of these scarce cassettes that I can find for sale anywhere in the world. This Italian 1st Issue is so rare that it has never been recorded on discogs. 1st Issue copies of this album with the cardboard outer case in tact almost never come on to the market**
Condition is superb: The cases, inlays and cassettes are all conservatively graded Excellent (EX) and in truth are all close to Near Mint. The cassettes look as if they have had hardly any play if they have been played at all. They are very clean with no signs of repeated insertion or handling. The inlays are both close to perfect. Both original pressure pads are in tact. The outer cardboard case is graded VG+. It has light signs of handling, some slight rubbing, very little wear to the edges and corners, no signs of fading and overall is in an extraordinary state of preservation. There are a couple of small tears to flaps (pictured).
Please Note: Both cassettes have been tested, carefully returned to the start and are known to be working, however due to the fragile nature of tapes of this age these cassettes are sold as a collectable item with no guarantee.
