All-New Cinematic DC Universe Speculative Key:
Gotham City Sirens
- First Team Appearance feat. Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy!
- 'Batman: Reborn' Tie-In
Harley Quinn's co-creator PAUL DINI pairs with artist GUILLEM MARCH to unite Gotham City's three most preeminent femme fatales anti-heroes into one informal yet dedicated team, the GOTHAM CITY SIRENS (GCS). While collection-worthy on its own merits, fans and speculators looking ahead to the dawn of director JAMES GUNN'S all-new cinematic DC Universe well-know that HARLEY QUINN, CATWOMAN and POISON IVY are each an extremely likely candidate for a live-action appearance. They may not appear concurrently, but they will appear eventually -- and when that happens, a Gotham City Sirens-like team-up is as likely as a sequel to Superman: Legacy.
Adding to that likelihood is that the GCS series was launched as a tie-in to the 2009 Batman event, "Batman: Reborn", the same event that put DAMIAN WAYNE into his ROBIN THE BOY WONDER suit for the first time in Grant Morrison's Batman and Robin #1 (VOL 1). Gunn's new DCU is drawing significant influence from that series, as well as from All-Star Superman, also by Morrison. GCS, while not actually written by Morrison, gains major points from being so closely associated to the writer's well-orchestrated event that propelled Damian Wayne's star into orbit.
Continually relevant with the nearly inarguable likelihood of only becoming moreso in the next 3-5 years, Gotham City Sirens was, is and will continue to be a sound investment with limitless growth potential.
