This is a nice clean early 1900's tool box with the KEEN KUTTER logo on the top lid! I haven't seen these very often, considered rare. The price guide claims these bring $450-$550 in original condition with labels and paperwork, but without the tools. This one is not in original condition in that some there are some repairs to hardware and should have had an original KK padlock, and also an inside label, but otherwise, it is in good condition, very clean, and solid. The box is made with single piece oak boards, however, both top and bottom exhibit cracks (see photos). It has the original Keen Kutter brass plaque on the top marked "E.C. SIMMONS KEEN KUTTER ST. LOUIS U.S.A”, and can be padlocked. The inside partitions are in place, and solid mounted. The hinges appear to be original. The box is 27.5" x 9" x 4.6" overall, with a brass handle added to the top. A nice rare early 1900's tool chest overall! The advertising copy show in the photos above is for information only on a original K-1 tool cabinet and is not included in this sale.
