This One Troy Pound Proof Round recreation of the American Silver Eagle Coin was minted from hand engraved dies specially prepared for the Exclusive Proof Minting of this piece, and it contains One Troy Pound of Pure .999 Fine Silver. This Proof Round was struck in a limited and numbered edition and engraved with the same exclusive Serial Number appearing on the included Certificate of Authenticity. This piece has the serial number of 580, which is a very low number in this Limited Release as well. 

   This impressive work of art was issued by The Federal Coin Fund Company located on 3 North Street in Dover, Delaware. 

   The best feature that this piece possesses is the Attractive Toning that it exhibits on the face and around the rim on the obverse side of the piece. That makes this item Unique, in my opinion. I would fully expect this toning to progress further toward the center of the obverse, which would make this piece even more beautiful. The colors exhibited include iridescent reddish, blue and purple hues. The photographs cannot truly do this piece justice. This toning is a 100% natural occurrence and is quite evenly distributed around the circumference of the obverse and the rim. I bought this piece on 02/22/1988, and from the time that it has been in my possession I can guarantee that it has not been in contact with human skin. On the photos where you can see my hand and fingers, the piece is resting in the bottom half of the clear protective case. Other than my taking these photos earlier today, I have never removed it from this clear protective case. The photos were taken using natural sunlight. Beware of sellers who enhance the appearance of toning on their coins using artificial lighting. I am not a coin dealer, just a guy who has been collecting coins and commemorative metals since childhood.
