Doxa is a brand often synonymous with big orange dive watches from the 60s and 70s. However, they produced a myriad of gorgeous dressier pieces in the earlier part of the 20th century that often times get overlooked. This particular example is a stunning Complete Calendar Chronograph with Moonphase that dates to 1948. It’s powered by a Valjoux 88 movement. Aesthetically this watch shares a lot of DNA with some pricier historic references, *cough* *cough* Patek 1518 in steel *cough* *cough*. All jokes aside this reference is an incredible value proposition for those who favor the look and feel of a six figure plus Patek but want something they can wear daily and enjoy. The red date track adds a youthful splash of color and contrasts beautifully against the metallic blue of the moonphase. The watch just underwent a full service and is running and ready to be enjoyed for another 75 years. Find us on IG at GoodEveningVintage for more fine vintage watches.
