This recent find is from the Estate of a NASA / MSFC (MARSHALL SPACE FLIGHT CENTER) Aerospace Engineer and came from building 4200 Archives (Wernher von Brauns old office building) before it was demolished. This TITAN ROCKET LAUNCH 16mm film is part of a large set of archived films from Marshall Space Flight Center and Looks to have originated on the ABMA side in 1959 Redstone Arsenal. This Eastman Kodak marked 16mm Film is in Original Metal Case with label on the outside PLUS P.A.A. Photographic Quality Control Analysis Sheet Motion Picture. Label is torn (looks like from where tape removal pulled some off) and readable details are below:
Handwritten on Label
1. TITAN LAUNCH
2. SMS
3. OBJ   ISLE

Metal Reel has the following stamps:
  • SNARK (Handwritten)
  • MADE IN U.S.A.
  • DENVER
  • GOLDBERG BROS.
  • PAT D 122.017
  • Footage markings (400/300/200/100 and 350/250/150/50)
Numbers on Quality Control Analysis Sheet match numbers we can see on the case label. Metal case shows some aging. Pictures are taken from about the first half of the film/reel (the last half of the film has not been looked at). Film Integrity is Very Good. As expected with 60+ year old 16mm film, there is a vinegar smell to it. There are some spliced together spaces, but they are original to the film (see last picture as an example).
