Vintage 1979 Omega Constellation Falklands War Military Issued Quartz Calibre 1351 Watch & Papers

A rare chance to own an interesting gents Omega Constellation quartz watch that requires a service as it is not working, I initially got it going with a new battery but it was intermittent and has now stopped. The watch comes with its original guarantee booklet that is stamped with the jewellers name M.Dialdas & Sons, 175 Main Street, Gibraltar and dated 28/12/82, it was sold to B.S.H Falkland Island and also has the stamp for the N.A.A.F.I Services Shop (Navy, Army, and Air Force Institutes), Port Stanley, B.F.P.O 666.

The description I have of the watch from the auction house I bought from reads:

'A stainless steel Omega Constellation quartz wristwatch issued by the British Merchant Navy to a member of the Falklands War military task force, Mr Ivan Chapman of the Merchant Navy, as a thank you for his efforts during the conflict'. (A copy of this description is supplied with the watch)

The watch serial number accurately dates the watch production to 1979 and the watch was subsequently sold on 28/12/82, 6 months after the conflict had ended. It has some faint marks to the watch face, the integrated bracelet and case have some faint marks in places, it has not been polished and the small Omega logo is missing front the bracelet clasp, the glass crystal is in good condition. The watch has no crown, you push the recessed button in to set the time.

It measures just over 29mm wide by 33mm high and fits a wrist up to 7¼ inches circumference
