These are the correct replacement capacitors for the Pioneer PL-12D motor as used in all versions of the PL-12D turntable. They are used to suppress the electrical arc that occurs when the switch contacts open or close. There are 2 switches and thus 2 capacitors. It is a good idea to replace these when restoring a vintage PL-12D as failing capacitors can eventually result in damage to the switch contacts, and can cause mains interference when the turntable is switched on or off, most often heard as a 'pop' or 'thump' in your speakers.

Unlike others on eBay These are safety rated parts from a reputable manufacturer. The exact parts supplied may vary depending on stock, but they will never be cheap knockoffs from China and they will always be class X2, high-tolerance  safety rated parts with a high AC voltage allowance. This ensures their reliability for years to come, and ensures they will function as expected.

Please note you are dealing with mains electricity. Components should never be replaced live under any circumstances. If you aren't comfortable working with parts that handle mains electricity, please consult a qualified person to help you carry out the work. I provide these replacement parts that I use in my own restorations to help others restore their own turntables with the correct parts, and to facilitate small orders of parts that can usually only be bought in large quantities. I do not accept liability for damage you cause to yourself or your equipment in using them.
