When I started building turntables almost 20 years ago, it occurred to me that the differences between the tonearm inner cables should not be neglected. Copper cables oxidize on the surface, exactly where the treble runs due to the skin effect - they then sound dull. I used silver wiring from a well-known Dutch manufacturer. The set cost 50 Marks back then. Today the product is around € 200. Like almost all parts of my turntable with air bearings, I have made it myself, continuously developed it and meanwhile sold almost 1000 sets all over the world!
And this is all included in the scope of delivery:
- 4x 50 cm (or 4x62cm for 12" arms) 4N pure silver solid core tonearm cables with a diameter of only about 0.2mm (also run in problematic arms such as Tangential or Air bearing). The silver and vernier is "Made in Germany"! As far as I know, it is the only cable on the market that allows for the direction in which the wire is pulled! A gain that should not be given away! The insulation consists of a special lacquer that was selected after sound tests by listening!
- 50cm cm 4N pure silver cable for the ground connection of the tonearm - is not isolated (message to me, if you need isolated by the same costs) - And you can call me - I'm happy to help on +49 8071 920284 - so far, together with my customers, I have gotten every cable pulled in. Sound description: In general, a pure silver cable would sound more airy, spatial and natural than a copper cable. It has more body. It lets the sound through unhindered. The silver cable sounded "hard" in any way, as one reads it in forums, I could not notice in any case. Also, none of my customers have ever told me of such an influence. On the contrary: several hundred cables from customers led to 100% positive reviews! And my cable takes into account the direction of pull of the silver wire. With the cinch cables you can easily see by turning them that this leads to a clearly audible improvement. The solid core version is also preferred by cable manufacturers in the top quality range. In general, I would say: This is the cheapest sound improvement that you can ever install in your system - you just have to trust yourself - I'll be happy to help!
