Staffordshire Figurine The Prudent Mother and Child Reading  After the Enoch Wood Original

Beautiful English Staffordshire pottery figurine of a woman in a long floral dress sat on a large high backed arm chair with a child,  reading a book that is resting upon the woman's knee, decorated in multicoloured polychrome enamel with a small amount of gilt embellishment.

 circa 1850 to 1860.

In very good antique condition with a firing tear to the side of the child's blue robe to the base. Restoration to the child's left hand and possibly to the back of the chair please study photos.

Measures approx. Height 8 inches ( 20,3.cm), Depth 3 7/8 inches (9.8.cm) and Width 5 1/8 inches (13.cm)
