Four 1980's Vintage German commemorative plates, commissioned by Munchener Ruck, Munich Re
5.7" (145mm) Porcelain plates made by Hutschenreuther in Germany
Hutschenreuther is a renowned, family, porcelain manufacturer founded in Bavaria in 1814.
White porcelain, with silvery trim and cast metallic center medallion (2.75", 71mm).
Plates were given by the German insurance company to select business partners to celebrate New Years. Includes original boxes with descriptive card of each plate.

Medallions are all replicas of original castings depicting figures, commemorating the 800th anniversary of the founding of the House of Wittlesbach:
•    Replica of 1570’s Coat of arms of the Dukedom of Bavaria, by Herbert Gerhard.
•    Replica of 1328 Bulla of the German Emperor Ludwig IV, artist unknown.
•    Replica of 1640 Coin of Elector Maximillian I
•    Replica of 1585 Medal of Duke William V and Consort Reneta von Lothringen. This plate has a small mounting hole in the back base rim.

Condition:  New in original boxes, with descriptive card of that year's medallion depiction. Plates have no chips or cracks. Some boxes have small stains, markings or wear on exterior.  Internal, protective Styrofoam clam shells intact.
