For sale is a rare 1979 Gibson "The SG" electric guitar in beautiful walnut finish. This SG is all original including the "velvet brick" humbucker at at the bridge.  I bought this beauty in the late 80s at a (now gone) mom and pop shop in Union, NJ called Rondo Music.  I still remember the admitted jealousy of the salesmen as they checked me out at the register.

Unfortunately, life has gotten in the way and I haven't played it much since the early 90s so, lucky for you, the guitar does not have anywhere near the typical wear and tear of a 45 year old instrument.  If you're looking for patina, this is not the guitar for you.

There are very few dings or scratches. You can't really see them unless you zoom in really close, but I tried to capture them up close in the pics and took them outside so there was good light.

The case is also original except for the deadhead sticker that was there when I bought it.  It's structurally sound but slightly beat up on the outside as you might imagine (and can see from the pics).

This guitar does not belong in its case, but on stage somewhere or at least where someone can appreciate it.  Don't miss out on the opportunity to own this rare and beautiful guitar.
