Oh, to get the blue-green, yellow, reds, skin tones, and gold highlights all onto one plate… and did I mention the rich browns of the child’s hair?

The child looks animated, even though that belt is probably a restraint to keep him or her still. Note the bright eyes and fabulous curls. And of course, the little yellow castle on the table next to his or her hand.

HOUSING. 1840s case with new spine.
  
CONDITION. Resealed in 2009. Lots of light scratches. Tarnish mirrors the mat, which lets us know that the housing is original.

APPEARANCE. An experience in color. Vivid! Plus, the castle gives this one extra-special content. A wonderful daguerreotype.
