has been rewired at some point .I have owned them for approximately 15 years .

this is one of a pair , other exactly the same.

seems to blow bulbs often so may need attention .

the other one perfect 

last 2 photos show that one shade has been repaired at the base,  but is unnoticeable when on the lamp ..
