An original Painting by Brian Lowe, titled on the back "Mousehole, Cornwall." In oil (I think), the image interestingly textured by the artist which gives it a particularly lively impression from afar.

Size: 58cms x 48cms.

Brian was born in 1946, and educated at Westlain Grammar School and the Brighton College of Art. He then trained in London as an Art Restorer, and from 1978 he worked as an Artist and a Restorer based in Brighton.
Concerning his approach to painting, he has said: " When I left College I was a confirmed Abstractionist. But through my work as a Restorer, and my awareness of the history of painting through the years, I was nagged incessantly by the 'visible world' and finally gave in! 'Places' have always haunted me - trying to find the aura of a place, not what I think is there. Sometimes they're picturesque, but sometimes they're not. They are themselves."
Brian died in December, 2019. Until now his artwork has not been widely available to the public. I consider it to be of the highest quality.

Condition: The painting is in a good condition. The frame is a little marked, but still very acceptable.

Signed with the artist's monogram bottom left.
A lovely, bright image of a typically Cornish village. Pronounced "Mowzel", it is a most attractive, small fishing village.
