The Century shape and glossy finish make them a beautiful addition to any collection, and the early 20th century era adds to the unique character.

Century was introduced in 1931 and ran until the late 1940s. This is truly an important piece for the Homer Laughlin Collector - this is the Century Ivory Vellum Glaze. The Century shape was developed in 1930. On February 2, 1931, Frederick Rhead noted in his journal: Finished modeling Century Square shape with Vellum glaze. Samples shown at Pittsburgh show in January. Numerous trails of Vellum were made in the then new Century shape as well as Wells.

Condition: Overall this set of deep plates are in very good to excellent vintage condition. No chips or cracks or crazing. Beautiful decals with little use and handling wear. Some bigger glaze stains / misses on the undersides of these bowls. Some other minor factory production flaws possible such as sand bumps, glaze pops, glaze misses, etc - common for factory production vintage pieces.
