Joe collected the majority of these between 1975 - 79, adding more as years passed. Sometime in the mid to late 1980s, he got a word processor and transcribed his handwritten notes as to where he went to find most of the nails. (Good thing he did - no one could read his writing.)

He went on many hikes and camp outs finding these nails, he also sold many duplicate singles.

Everything is original as Joe made it - the Styrofoam sheet needs to be replaced, and some of the old Dymo labels have fallen away, so there is some work to be redone on some of the nails names.

It was an adventure!

I forgot to mention that he built the frame from wood from an old building at Goldfield and the measurements are: 13 x 17.5 x 3.5"
what a GREAT piece of RAILROAD HISTORY!
