There are a total of 24 characters, and you have to complete a series of battles in order to unlock them all. If you play as a single-player, you follow Shao Kahn as he attempts to become tyrant ruler of the Earth Realm. The single-player mode has five difficulty levels for a variety of play depending on your skill level in “Mortal Kombat.”Before PlayStation and Nintendo DS, “Mortal Kombat,” a long shot from pixelated Atari games, redefined what video games could be.
