Description

This early 1970s D-12-28 model is one of the most popular Martin 12-string models with its clear grain and gorgeous sound.

Production of this model began in 1970, and it is a dreadnought style with a 14-fret joint.

This guitar reminds me of the Eagles' Hotel California. There is a video of them playing on stage with Dialmond pickups on it.

The gorgeous yet sad sound you hear on the record is still captivating today.

This instrument is a 1972 model and is in beautiful condition with some repair history.

It also has a cool look with an austere burnt candy color.

The action has been adjusted to a low action, almost to the limit, and the sound is well-balanced and easy to play even in the high position.

Spruce top, rosewood sides and back, ebony fingerboard, and ebony bridge.

Original 6-globe square shielded back pegs.

The pickguard has been reapplied and there are no Martin cracks.

The nut has been replaced, the frets have been adjusted as original, the neck angle has been reset, and the saddle has been replaced.

The guitar is in very clean condition with some pick scratches around the soundhole.

There is a hairline crack repaired on the right side. There is also a line visible on the left side facing you, but this is just paint and has not reached the wood.

Near the end pin, there is a mark where the paint was repaired after losing the stand.

However, for an instrument that is more than half a century old, it is exceptionally clean.

It is a regular grip neck with a width of about 47.0 mm at the nut.

The neck has been adjusted and set straight.

It is set very low, about 2.0 mm on the 6th string and 1.3 mm on the 1st string at the 12th fret.

Even at this string height, you can hardly feel any vibrations, and it is well-balanced and easy to play even in high positions.

The saddle height is firm and the tension is tight. I don't think the string height will be lowered any further, but there is still plenty of room.

The 12-string sound is gorgeous, grainy, and clean, with a sparkling, clean sound. It is a good sounding instrument with a broad and harmonic sound.

The bass is tight, yet gorgeous, and the sound is pleasant to play.

It would be more powerful if the strings were set a little higher, but since it is a 12-string instrument, this well-balanced set is most recommended.

It comes with a genuine black case circa 1976.

12 strings of this age are rare to find in stock, and it is rare to find such a beautiful, top-quality one.
