For sale is a vintage pair of safety glasses, left behind in my late father's lifetime "collection" of all sorts of things.  These safety glasses must have belonged to his brother, who worked at A. O. Smith.  They are probably from the '50's.

The metal snap-shut clam shell case has a label on it to indicate that the glasses were made for the A. O. Smith Corporation by Bausch and Lomb.   They were distributed by the Riggs Optical Company.   I can't find a Bausch & Lomb insignia on the glasses.   There is an insignia on the glass itself, but I can't match it to another Bausch & Lomb insignia.  I finally realized the insignia was an AO, which was most likely put there for the A.O. Smith Corp., as these were company safety eyewear.

The glasses are in very nice condition, with no scratches on the lenses.  The temples are plastic-covered metal, with very nice rounded metal temple tips.   The metal case shows definite signs of age.  The case top is quite rusted, and there is rust, as well, on the back, but not as bad.   The lining is intact, but stained.  (see photos)

I hope that these are big, round, vintage glasses that you would have fun wearing, or for adding to your collection!

Thanks for looking here!!
