The lot of documents for H. S. Hawkins, Captain 6th U.S. Infantry, Company Post at Darlington, S.C.:
- Letter dated Dec. 14, 1867, all manuscript from Headquarters Mil. Post of Darlington, S.C. from Hawkins stating his mailing a check for $76.81 to the Treasury.
- Letter dated Dec. 14, 1867, all manuscript from same place from Hawkins stating his mailing a check for $94.53 to the Treasury.
- Letter dated Dec. 18, 1867, from E.A. Burge to Hawkins stating that he (Burge) left unexpectedly and sending vouchers to Hawkins for his brother, George A. Burge (of the N.H.) from Hollis, N.H. More on the dockets from Hawkins regarding the matter.
- Letter dated Mar. 30, 1868, to Col. J. W. Nichols, Paymaster, Charleston, S.C. regarding pay for E.A. & George A. Burge. States that Capt. Hawkins has not forwarded document to the brothers in N.H. etc. Signed by Geo. A. Burge. In docket summation of contents by Col. Nichols.
- Cover dated June 12, 1868, from Headquarters 2nd Mil. District, Charleston, S.C. to A.J. Willard of the Bureau of Civil Affairs, signed by Louis V. Caviare, A.D.C. & A. A. A. Gen. Replied and signed by A.J. Willard on July 23, 1868.
- Notarized document dated 20 July 1868, from Geo. A. Burge stating that Burge is appointing Benjamin F. Whittemore of Darlington District, S.C. to be his lawful attorney in order to collect from the paymaster money due to him.
