Art of Rug Weaving was brought to Kashmir in fourteenth century by Islamic preachers from Persia.The art flourished under different rulers and kings ultimately gained an independent identity. Kashmir became the hub of Carpet trade in silk route era.

 

This is  beautiful "Gombund" hand knotted with an absolute perfection.The rug is 100% pure superfine natural silk with organic plant dyes.This combination is now rare in modern Persian Silk rugs.The rug has extraordinary details and is display of high quality craftsmanship.

The rug has 400 knots per square inch and display of silk is stunning .The rug  was weaved by the master artisan Khalil Joe in the country side Kashmir.Khalil Joe has been weaving rugs for last 60 years.The rug is a master piece and pure work of art.
