The cover was foremost a tribute The Beatles’ famous Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Wenner added a three dimensional feature to it, which cost a reportedly one million dollars to design.

ROLLING STONE ISSUE 1000 HISTORY 101: May 18/June 1, 2006, Rolling Stone magazine published its 1,000th issue, featuring specially produced holographic cover with as many A-list names in music as they could fit on the page. One hundred and fifty icons were included, everyone from Bob Dylan and Janis Joplin to Britney Spears and Eminem. Wenner also included movie stars George Clooney, Angelina Jolie and Tom Cruise; and his favorite politicians Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan and so many more...
