This is an excellent example of a very old Boomerang from the Darling/Eyre Basin area, 70 cms in length, it was stone carved into the classic shape with fine carved design on the front done with a mounted possum tooth , it has seen a great amount of use over a long life beginning in the 1800's.   Secure old repair to split at one end.
The carvings upon the wood are infilled with manganese ochre and emu oil to show
as a black detail which is quite unique and obviously caught the eye of the collector.

As the collector nowadays would know, Boomerangs of this type are rare and this
one shows a long, well shaped and balanced, masterfully carved piece of art !
