Rare Olympic white Coronado II from 1967

Coronado II is a 2PU specification equipped with a thin hollow body, a bolt-on neck, and a Dial Monde design single coil PU.

This is a rare model that does not have the optional tremolo specification, but the coloring is "Olympic White", which was a custom color at the time!

Maple body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. 25.5 inch scale, nut width is approximately 41.5 mm. The frets are believed to be original, and the electrical components such as the pot are also believed to be original. The Pot date has changed over time and is currently unreadable.

The neck date is "19OCT67B", and together with the serial number, we believe it was made in 1967.

There is a crack approximately 4.5cm long in the binding at the top of the neck joint on the 6th string side, and although the step still remains, it has been fixed with adhesive. There is also a paint gap in the binding part at the tip of the cutaway on the 1st string side. There are also small paint cracks on both sides of the neck joint body. Also, the entire back of the neck is oversprayed, probably because the same adhesive treatment was applied mainly to the low position on the 1st string side of the neck binding. In addition, the black plastic cushions under both PUs have deteriorated, the surface layer has peeled off, stuck, and collapsed, but there is currently no problem with appearance or use.

There is some wobbling on the 3rd string peg, but there is no problem with tuning. The string height adjustment set screw on the 6th string saddle has been replaced with a slightly longer one, and other set screws are also likely to have been replaced. Also, one neck joint screw has been changed.

The neck condition is generally fine, and the truss rod can be adjusted to tighten or loosen, and can still be adjusted by turning to tighten. There are no string marks on the frets, but about 40 to 50% remain.

Overall, there is some overspray on the back of the neck, but it is in good condition, and the frets are low, but playability is maintained.

The sound is a maple neck, full hollow, Dial Monde PU and fender, and has a unique edge and flexible body that gives it a special character that is not found in the classics.
