This is for an original January 1947 issue of Cow Puncher Comics by Avon which has been encapsulated and graded by CGC as 5.0. As the flip says, the artwork was done by the legendary Joe Kubert along with Jon Small and since the book is pre code, it features some hanging panels. This would also be the third comic to use the new “An Avon Comic” square logo on its cover. Some great content in the book featuring a 10 page Texas Ranger story titled “The White Comanche”, a seven page Ken Knight of the North story “The Artic Assassin”, a 9 page Alabam story by Joe Kubert titled “Split Second Stand In” along with two other eight page stories featuring Spitting Snake and the Piper Brothers. Avon comics were known for their great artwork and titles, and most of the comics they published would be either one-shots or short run titles. This title actually lasted 7 issues with most featuring some great GGA. If you love collecting Avon titles, this is an easy run to complete. If you were to send it into CGC to be cleaned and pressed you could easily end up with a 7.0. A great title with great artwork from a young Joe Kubert whose career would include almost every award and Hall of Fame induction in the world of comics.
