Rickenbacker was founded in 1892 by Adolph Rickenbacker, the founder of the company, and sold to F.C. Hall in 1953. Rickenbacker was founded by Adolph Rickenbacker in 1892 and sold to F.C. Hall in 1953. In 1958, the hollowbody "Capri" series, now synonymous with Rickenbacker, was born. This hollowbody style model was based on the Combo 850, a derivative of the Combo series started in 1954 and released in 1957. The Capri model was given to John Lennon at the 1958 NAMM show, and the history of Rickenbacker and the Beatles began.

The flagship 300 series has a 310 for a 3/4 scale 2PU and a 320 for a 3PU on a 12 3/4 wide model, a 350 for a full scale 3PU, a 330 for a 2PU and a 340 for a 3PU on a 15 1/4 wide standard trim model, and a 340 for a 3PU on a 15 1/4 wide standard trim model. 330, 340, 360, and 370 for the 2PU and 3PU in deluxe trim, respectively, with the last digit "5" for the models with vibrato.

In 1964, the Beatles made their first tour of the United States, and Rickenbacker presented George Harrison with its first 12-string model, the 360-12. (George immediately used the 1964 360/12 for the majority of the songs on his album "A Hard Day's Night," which was released after his return to the U.K. (the second one produced). A film of the same name brought the innovative sound and looks of the instrument to worldwide distribution. George later acquired a 1965 round-body model, but it was stolen, and many people think of the first 360-12 as George's favorite.

The 360/12 V64 model we are showing here is a faithful reissue of George's beloved 1964 360-12. This is a semi-vintage model with 36 years of age, but it is in near mint condition and you can't feel the age at all.

The specs include a semi-hollow thin body, non-bounced slash sound hole, non-rounded double cutaway style, and double-bounced OS old style specs. The body and neck are both made of maple, and the beautiful figured wood can be seen in various places, and a beautiful Fireglo finish is applied to it. The neck is a 3-piece maple-walnut-maple construction with two dual truss rods. The head is a characteristic slotted head shape, and both the neck and head have matching finishes like the body. Other features include a 21F rosewood fingerboard, triangle pearl inlays on the position marks, black dots on the side position marks, a distinctive split 2-piece white pickguard, Toaster pickups, "Ko The "U" shaped tailpiece, Cruson tuners, black control knobs with white lines and dot markers, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc.

The sound of the 360-12 is so interesting that it gives you goosebumps the moment you play it. The sound is exactly like George's sound, and the intro of "A Hard Day's Night" flashes back. The unique sound of the hollowbody and 12-string specification with its original shape, the overtone feeling of the acoustic, and the sparkling British sound unique to the Toaster PU are one-of-a-kind. It is because of this sound that various pop/rock scenes were born and 12-string models were established. Although not quite vintage, the tone has matured over the past 36 years, and has developed a unique and wonderful nuance that cannot be experienced with any other guitars of the past.

Finally, as for the condition, this guitar is in excellent collector's condition, which is hard to believe that it was made in the 1980's, a semi-vintage period. The only damage is a light picking scratch on the pickguard that can be noticed by holding it up to the light, minor aging of the paint on the body back, a crack on the binding on the lower left side of the body, a very minor paint chip on the body end that can be seen by poking it with a pen tip, and some paint peeling on the peg bushings. There are some minor scratches and dents on the body end that are not noticeable, but the paint is still very bright and the Fireglo red color is vivid, and there are hardly any weather checks. The frets are slightly worn, but there are no noticeable dents, and the fretboard surface is in beautiful condition. The parts are soldered virgin and fully original, but only the pegs have been replaced with Gotoh locking tuners (MG-T), which are the same shape as the originals (originals are also included). (The original is also included.) The neck is in good playing condition. The neck is in good condition and the truss rod still has full range of motion. The original documents, cloth, bridge cover (without screws), and the original tuners before replacement are included.
