Description

This model was released in 1979, 25 years after the Stratocaster was released, to commemorate its 25th anniversary. This is a limited model with approximately 10,000 pieces produced from 1979 to 1980. Compared to the regular models of this period with 4-bolt joints and rotomatic tuners, it feels special, and it is a beautiful silver-colored model.

【body】

The overall weight is approximately 3.7kg, which is light for this time of year. The color of the body made of white ash was pearl white at the beginning of production, but it was soon changed to silver. The "ANNIVERSARY" logo can be seen on the left cutaway part. The silver color has progressed to a champagne color. The entire body has been thoroughly weather checked, and there are signs of use such as dents and burnt paint on the sides of the body, and dullness of the metal parts, giving it the feel of an old guitar, but in relatively good condition.

【neck】

The neck material is 1 piece maple. The neck, which has a 4-bolt joint, was oversprayed during the refret, and although there is some peeling of the paint on the side of the fingerboard, it remains in relatively good condition. There are signs that the tuner was once replaced with a different type, but it has now been replaced with a Superzel one with the "Fender" logo. There are some variations in the firmness of the roll, but it works well. The nut/frets have been replaced once and playability is good. Head thickness 16.4mm. Nut width 41.5mm. It features a slightly V-like neck shape that is unique to this period.

[Electrical system]

The controls are the orthodox Strat style [5-way pickup selector/master volume/neck (front) position tone/center position tone]. The pickup maintains the condition of the time, including the gray bobbin flat pole piece and control system, just like the regular specs at the time. You'll be able to enjoy the loud and jacking sound with the punch typical of Strats from this period.
