There once was an adventurous Alaskan lady who was a real globetrotter. But for all her traveling & all the places she visited, her real soft spot was Norway. Boy was she keen on that place & oh, how she shopped! When she made her final voyage & headed off to Valhalla, or one of the other nine realms or wherever, she left behind a whole ‘lotta Norway… & now we have it. This is just one item from a portion of her collection that we will be listing, to move on to the loving hands of those who also adore Norway, Norwegian culture & most especially, their Trolls. Trolls are an integral part of Norwegian culture. Since the writing of the Eddas, if not earlier, trolls have made themselves known in Norwegian history, literature & folklore. Every region has its own legends & folk stories. Giant troll sculptures dot the landscape & every sort of troll-themed souvenir can be found in shops across the country. Norway's NyForm's Trolls are a Norwegian collectible classic. 

These hand-made Trolls are designed by Norwegian artist Trygve Torgersen and grandson, Bjorn Schulze. They are made of latex and hand painted. According to legend they bring good luck and protection while residing in your home. 

The hugging or dancing troll couple is a real thing. We have THREE other pairs of trolls embracing one another up for sale (two are NyForm trolls, the third is the most peculiar piece of rock painting art), all from our intrepid world traveler. 

This pair one of two pairs of embracing lovers in style # 126. They are approximately 9 1/2 inches/24 cm. tall) & the youngest/most recent of our three pairs NyForm trolls, having a modern booklet attached to them. The male has a big fluff of beautiful brown hair (think mid tones on a Seal Point Siamese) & his mate a shock of silver white hair peeking out from her rust red headscarf. Both have open eyes with glass inserts. Our guy, as you can see in the photos, has lost his tail. :/

This figure is in very good condition with some imperfections & of course, a missing tail. They have their original, modern color NyForm booklet still attached. There are some small scuffs on his pants, arm & the tip of his nose (see photos). Other markings may or may not be actual imperfections -- but, if you know your NyForm, you know that they are by nature, rustic & variable which is part of their charm if not a signature feature of the brand. These trolls spent many, many years in a loving home. We hope to see them off to someone who will cherish them just as much -- perhaps that is you! That have been gently dry brushed with a soft toothbrush to remove dust & make it as easy to see their detail as possible. They will be lovingly wrapped in tissue & bubble wrap for a safe journey. You choose USPS Ground Advantage or Priority Mail. :)
