Three (3) pages double sided, except for last page (front only), composed entirely in Janis Joplin's handwriting. On white lined paper from a spiral binder, in black ink, dated Nov 1, with postal stamp on envelope year of 1965. Written to Fiance Peter de Blanc, in part, "Dear Peter, I just wrote you last night, about 12 hrs ago, so there's nothing really new. I still seem to be in a very bad mood. I yelled at everyone all weekend & so the whole family is unanimous in wanting me to hear from you. (I always become hell to live with when I havent heard from you...)... Just cool yourself, remember who you are & how groovy everything is & stop sulking! Jeez... In English now, I made a 95! on my history test but I'll be damned if I'll send it to you...  Guess Ill finish this & go mail it & then get started on homework.". The letter is signed "I love you xxxxx Janis". The letter contains great insights to Janis personal feelings and life and shows how fragile she could be. Come with original Janis Joplin handwritten addressed mailing envelope with postal stamp of 1965 to date the letter. This came to me from Heritage Auction house in 2004 and accompanying provenance (possibly photocopy) will be provided. This piece is unpublished to the best of my knowledge. Janis would unfortunately only live to 1970.
