The Yamaha Folk Guitar Standard Model features a simple, traditional design that can be described as the origin of the Yamaha Folk Guitar, the same high quality, and an affordable price. The newly developed scalloped bracing design delivers a powerful sound with excellent response. This is a typical entry-level model.

The body is a traditional western type, with a single-ply spruce top and nato (or okume) sides and back, which have sound characteristics similar to mahogany, with a full midrange and a warm sound.

The new "scalloped bracing" has been developed by the Yamaha guitar team! A new woodworking technique developed by the Yamaha guitar team enhances the volume in the mid and low registers, resulting in a powerful sound. The designers did not base their development on past experience or guesswork, but rather conducted extensive sound experiments and analysis to scientifically elucidate the evolution of sound. This analysis led to a new bracing design that realizes a sound with unprecedented expressiveness while maintaining the durability of the surface plate, which is the key to sound!
